Digital Degus,
I signed us up for something really cool and then I got an email back. We have an opportunity to meet Dayna, Tango and Siren on Skype on Friday, February 22nd at 11:30 a.m.!
Here is Dayna's message below....
The Fire Safety Dogs and I are excited to Skype with your class! We LOVE to Skype with schools in Canada especially!
Our goal is to help reduce fire-related deaths and injuries and we are thankful to our sponsors, First Alert and State Farm for supporting this program. With their support, we are able to bring this program at no cost to your class.
My name is Dayna and I am a volunteer firefighter and certified fire safety educator. My dogs and I have been Skyping for over three years and have loved every minute of it! Our program is educationally sound and based on the latest fire safety research for young children and has been credited with helping save the lives of seven children and two adults who were involved in actual fire-related situations.
Please send a friend request on Skype to keepkidsfiresafe the day before the Skype visit.
We have made a video for you to get excited about your Skype visit!
“Bonus” materials, including a downloadable activity book, Jr. Firefighter Certificate and more to supplement the Skype visit can be found at: http://www.keepkidsfiresafe.org/sfsstbonusmaterials.html
On occasion, we have teachers asking for our mailing address in which to send notes or drawings from the children to the Fire Safety Dogs after the program. The dogs LOVE getting mail and will share drawings on their live streamed fire safety show, Sparkles’ Safety Spot. Here’s the address: The Fire Safety Dogs 106 East Poplar Street Clarksville, Arkansas 72830
If you take pictures during the program, we would love to have a file of the pictures for our page. Should you take any pictures from behind where the children are (so that no faces may be seen), we’d like to post them on our Keep KIds Firesafe webpage or the dog's webpage with your permission.
Should you wish to receive an email with new coloring pages, videos and more when they are released, please send a note to keepkidsfiresafe@gmail.com with the word “Newsletter” in the subject line, and we will be sure to send them your way!
Please share this Skype opportunity with your friends. The more children that we reach, the more children we will be able to help keep safe.
