Oscar's Table Manners

In preparation for our upcoming meal with Room 207, Molly shared this video of Oscar's table manners with me. Do you think he's showing Morgan Lewis manners?

Haunted House Shots

Hello dear blog readers,
I'm sorry that we've fallen behind on some awesome posts. It's been a busy, busy time in Room 209 (what else is new?).
Allison just sent me these hilarious shots from the surprise photo booth at our Haunted House.
Enjoy!

...which reminded me to go through my photos and I came up with these gems...

Oh, Steve, You Naughty Boy

Oh dear, I got a report about Steve's behaviour over the March Break from the Haugen family.

What do you think?

"Steve completely misbehaved. He wouldn't go to bed at a proper time. He is now grounded until Thursday. Please talk to him about his behaviour. I tried, but he just swam away and seemed to ignore me, how RUDE!!

P.S. I think he may have a gas problem, there are bubbles all over the tank!!"

Oh, Steve. No one will want to take care of you over the holidays if this is how you act!

Haunted House

On Hallowe'en, we visited Tiiu's class' Haunted House on the stage in the Gym. It was wonderfully spooky!

After we came back to the classroom, we looked at some hilarious photos of people's reactions to Haunted Houses. I only wish we had photos of our own faces in the school Haunted House!

Students had lots of creative ideas about what the scared people were so frightened of, the ideas were so good that we did some creative writing about what they might have seen.

Each student began with the prompt, "They turned the corner, and then they saw...."

The variety of stories, creepy, spooky, funny and terrifying, were fabulous. Students are using their Writer's Workshop Tools perfectly to develop interesting stories.

Haunted House Reactions we looked at in class to inspire us.

Silly Walk Parade

To celebrate International Walk to School Day, we had a Silly Walks Parade around the school yard. Erika decorated a shoe for our class and led us in the procession!
The walks certainly were silly!
Sophia really got into the spirit of Silly Walks, even coming to school in a crazy wig. Her energy was contagious as she swung Kaleigh around in a Silly Do-Si-Do.
Do you think Pat, Reilly and Gus were having fun during the Parade? Also, doesn't Reilly look like he could be Gus' little bro?
Lauren and Millie demonstrate a precarious Silly Walk!
Imagine how funny this would look as time passes!
