Pat and Hunter's Philanthropy by Pat and Hunter

The point of our philanthrophy (for those of you who don't know, that means fundraising for charity) was to raise $235 for UNICEF to buy a School-in-a-Box, which contains the basic needs and supplies for a classroom in a developing country. - by Pat

We were inspired by a little magazine that came to my doorstep once upon a time. The poor little magazine, out in the cold. So we decided to take it inside and read it. Pat came by the next day and I thought Pat and I would make a good team to sell hot chocolate. So, we set up a little hot chocolate stand in the intersection of Beech and Champagne, really close to my house and we sold the hot chocolate for as much as you wanted to donate. Gabby dropped by and gave us some baked goods. Thanks to Gabby, we got some extra money. In the end, we passed the total by two dollars, precisely! - by Hunter

Here we are, sitting out in the cold. We played with Matt, Shauna's husband, he plays in a band called The Royal Condition. - Hunter.
Me, freezing my hands off, trying to play ukulele. And I'm surprised I have my fingers to this day.  - Pat

That's our sign I made out of a cardboard box I found in a recycling bin. And it's my mom in the picture. - Hunter

Still playing, freezing my hands. - Pat

Yay! Camden dropped by. As soon as we closed up! We had been open for three hours. - Hunter

Us standing, still freezing our hands off, and Sadie came. And she was all full of joy after watching a movie at home. - Pat

My mom and I were at home and we just found the time to take my Blackberry and turn it on and go on the UNICEF website and poured all the money out of the Zip-Lock bag after we counted it all up, and then we BOUGHT IT! We bought the School-in-a-Box. - Hunter

Thanks to the inspiring work of Pat and Hunter, a group of students in a developing country now have the resources to go to school! AMAZING!
