Your First Computer Lab Job in 2013!

Hi girls and boys!

Welcome back to the computer lab for our first time in 2013! Many of you worked very hard over the break and visited We Give Books. Some of you still need to complete your task. If you forget what it is, visit the post before this one. I would like you to finish the task by next Monday.

In the computer lab today, I would like you to think about your Where project. Please visit the posts earlier on the blog about the Where project and do some investigation about different products. Come up with a list of 2-4 items you might like to research. You will eventually select one.

Post a comment on this blog with your list!

Then, respond to at least two of your classmates' comments and give some feedback.

Finally, when you are done, you may visit freerice or We Give Books!

      Although, I just started thinking that bacon might be a little bit gross! Can you handle it!?

      Remember, you also have to tie it into your grade's Science theme. For you and the other grade 4s, that's Rocks and Minerals. Remember your Rocks and Minerals Big Ideas? Can you tie bacon in to any of those? Perhaps forks or knives would work better.

      I you should do knifes or forks because bacon is made from the rear end and personaly i dont whant to know a bout that and madi is probobly going to do bubble wrap and i think yours should be unique!

      I don't think that bacon would be gross, (we almost watched in school when a supply teacher was in,)
      but then either Matt or Geoff thought it would be too gross so we didn't end up watching it.
      I really like the idea of bacon but I just realized it doesn't really tie into the grade 5 theme.

      Sophia,

      I really like the idea for the screen of a tablet/ipod, etc. Have you heard of "Gorilla Glass"? You should look it up!

      Also the screen on my Kindle is SO cool! There is a plastic screen covering a glass screen. I know this because I fell asleep on one and broke it!

      Why am I not surprised that you'd like to do candy!? Do you think you'll be able to tie these items into your Science Big Ideas? Remember that Grade 5s have to think about the Conservation of Energy and Resources.

      i think you should do candy because a pocket knifes are wepens and if you whant to do bacon i whouldent whant to know because it is made of the rear end of a pig and that is cool yet discusting and many people are going to do ipods (probobly)so do somthing unique!
      just personal advise do what ever you whant!

      There are lots of interesting facts about Coca Cola in terms of manufacturing, transportation and distribution. Coca Cola has a very interesting history and is popular all over the world! Which one of these is your favourite idea?

    It seems like a lot of people are selecting mass manufactured items. I wonder if anyone will select an artisan item. Fiona was considering doing her project about reproducing art! That would be a little different. Usually on an episode of the TV show "How It's Made", they show at least one mass manufactued item and at least one handmade item.

    -Boomerang-to make boomerangs working you need to use energy from your body
    -Flute- makes the flute play music,by blowinging into it/using body energy
    -Flashlights-uses energy to run the light
