Today in the Lab - Geoguessr!

Hello boys and girls,

Welcome to your first computer lab period of 2014!

Today in the lab, you will be working independently on Geoguessr. Take your time like we did in class to examine your location and make your best guess.

To show me that you are using your geographic skills effectively, write a comment on this post telling me a location that you guessed and what clues helped you to make that guess.

After you have finished one round of Geoguessr (5 locations), visit IXL and work on Data Management and Graphing activities.

  Have fun!

Shauna

  4. I would say I was in North America in the US in California because it was desert and it still had greenery and that is one image of a Californian road that comes to my mind. I also noticed that it seemed in the middle of nowhere in a sense, but it did have quite a few road sing so it was probably a highway.

  8. For my location there was a graveyard and the graveyard had a sign so I read the sign and it said "tominout distillery". I searched that up on the internet and it said that location was in Scotland Tomintoul, So when I placed my guess I tried to make it really close to Tomintoul. My guess was 96.122km away from the correct location

  12. I guessed that the place I was in was in Yukon Canada because it was snowing and the Yukon has snow right now. I also realized that the one sign I could see was amscc, but I couldn't go any closer to see what the sign was for. The correct place was Germany. The Latitude was almost the same, the line as a little slanted.

  26. I guessed that it was in in south-western BC in the rocky mountains because there is allot of greenery, mountains, and developed road, although it was in the middle of nowhere. I used those clues to get my answer because I know that BC has allot of greenery, is mountany (because of the rocky mountains), and developed. It was only 424.998 km away, mostly north and a little west of my location.
