I think that possibly the girl that had her back bending to the side may have had scoliosis, scoliosis is something that you are born with. it's when your spine is either bending to your side, your front, or it's just when it's not in the right position. here is an x-ray of a straight spine, and a crooked spine : http://www.kbspine.com/conditions_treated/scoliosis/02.jpg
not that it is to be ashamed of at all! it's ok! usually you don't even need to get surgery! only if it starts to get really bad! and it hurts a lot.
