Our Cat Classmate

In Room 209, we're desperate for a pet. To tide us all over for a bit, Ap (Shauna's cat) came in for a short visit. She had a pretty good time, though she blasted fur all over the classroom in her excitement (or perhaps it was a bit of stress).

It took a little while, but she became comfortable enough in the classroom to meet every student (except Miguel, who was away). In fact, right after Ap was picked up by Matt, Miguel appeared. We wondered if she turned into Miguel magically!

Ap was very nervous when she first arrived. She hid behind Shauna's desk for quite a while. What a great cat face!
Melodee was very patient. She thought "outside the hoop" (ha ha!) to tempt Ap over to visit her!
Fin and Fiona stayed in for recess and played with Ap and an octopus. Here is Ap's view underneath Shauna's desk.
Ethan and Ap were having a staring contest.
Ap always finds the snuggest places to hide.
But we can find her!
As the morning went on and we got down to work, Ap got braver and braver.

The students in Room 209 are so kind and gentle!
Ap was so pooped from her visit that she got home and slept for most of the day. Although, when she got out of her crate, her cat sister, Trixie hissed three times at her. We tried to figure out why. Some students guessed that it was because Trixie was jealous of Ap's adventure. Others thought Trixie wanted the whole house to herself and wanted Ap to stay away. Maybe Trixie was just overwhelmed by the smell of 25 new humans all over her sister!

  1. I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into this blog. I really feel that I am involved and that I have a good idea of the happenings in Shauna's class.
